Need something to replace fake wood crap on dash

I just bought a '06 3500, and hate the fake wood crap on the dash and doors, anyone make something to replace it?? Carbon fiber, stainless steel, or even black or gray plastic?? Can't stand the wood stuff!!

I also heard that the headlights are the greatest on these trucks, is that true?? If so what lights/mods are people doing to get the best light?? Thanks alot for your input, seems like a great sight, and look forward to many problem free miles on my CTD, unlike my POS 6.0 Ford i got rid of .

you could order a laramie dash kit from Dodge..I dont think any aftermarket stuff is out yet (havent seen it)

I am trying Nokya acrtic white bulbs for headlights...There are no Silverstar replacements....Sylvania cant get them dot certified...If you buy Nokyas, stage 1 is tock wattage, and stage 2 is high wattage, requiring a wiring upgrade...

Try Husky dash trim.

Husky that makes husky liner floor mats also makes dash trim kits. Here's the link for Dodge: http://www.huskyliner.com/dodgedash.html.

I found it at my Dodge dealer. It only cost me $40,000. It's the Laramie trim package.

He's got an 06', which I beleive is all wood now exept for the sport. I saw 06' SLT's and Laramines on the lot with the wood.

Nice, $40,00 for a trim package sounds like you got a steal. I like it nonetheless. I have the crappy factory stuff and am looking to upgrade somewhat. I swear, I have only had the truck a month and have put over 3 grand in it. I need to get the "fully loaded" option next time

The '06 dashes are different than the picture posted, i beleive that both the laramies and the slt's have the same dash with the fake wood stuff around the cd player, etc.

Not anymore. The new Laramie's have the ugly wood trim. I found a couple sites that sell replacement stuff. I'll have to find them again and I will post under a new thread.

and if you dont have the big stereo head unit you get two thin areas that will hold a cell phone, cds or a pen...but WILL NOT HOLD sunglasses and wont hold gauges like in the pic...

and they are correct...they all have faux wood now except SPORT package which has the contrasting panels and no chrme on outside...

I kind of like the dash on the 06. It's not a mercedes, but then again the price is only about $40K instead of north of $60 for a mercedes. I think the fake wood looks as good as the silver metal on the 05 I traded. Plus, I definitely like the layout of the dash and the radio controls, etc., better than the 05. Also, the radio sounds much better in the 06.
