Need some input!!!

I have a friend who just bought a 2006 3500 2wd dually auto. He wants me to find him a chip for his truck. I know nothing about the 3rd gens. I know the J/A is not a option. He wants a single level box, something he does not have to jack with. This guys hauls alot and real heavy, whatever a 32' gooseneck loaded with bulls will weigh? So im guessing an EZ. Help me out here.

Thanks in Advance,
Jamie

I know its kinda frowned upon here to tow with out gauges and a box. but this guys gonna do it. How would the EGT's with the quad box be with a 20-25k pound load. Also what other boxes do i need to stay away from or look into.

thanks in advance
Jamie

well when he cooks it he will know we were right about the guages. When I towed (10 000LBs)with my truck stock I was able to hit 1500* with a box cooking something with that much weight behind you is not hard.

Well I know I cant talk this guy into gauges he will just go with out the box. I just really really dont want to be responsible for his brand new 06 going up in smoke. He had an 05 6spd that he had what i think was a Dr. Performance on it. I saw the chip and on the top it said Stage I Fuel only. If he had it on his 05 will it go on his 06? It should right. I know he still has it.

That depends on what connections have to be made. If it connects to the injectors, it won't fit. A friend of mine has an 06 2500 and just recently bought a Juice/Attitude combo for it. Ordered it on-line from a site that just said it was for 04.5 and up. For 06, they went from three 4-pin injector connectors to two 6-pin connectors. The fuse box is also different. Not sure of any other wiring changes for 06.

As far as your buddy not wanting to invest in gauges, I was pulling a little over 8,000lbs. up a pretty steep grade at a high elevation and had to back out of the throttle when I saw my EGT reach 1300deg. This was when the truck was still stock.

If he is not willing to run guages then his best bet is to keep the truck stock, then if something breaks there is no hassle over warranty work.
