Need More Air

THis weekend I pegged my Pyro bout 6 times on the highway. I'm running the bullet(66/74/14) @55psi but I can hit over 60psi with spikes. What should I do. I'm afraid Sled pullin is going to get the best of me this year with 2000 deg pulls.Even on Smarty #5 rail pressure#2. 7 is worse and 9 is bout the same as 7.

probably gonna take some twins to cool things off real good...I guess you could spry some water??...or just buy the bottom turbo and piping in the II race compounds and run your 66 on top?? that should move some air!

This is probably real obvious to most but how would twins cool it off if your top turbo in your twins is the same as your runnin already. Wouldnt the exhast wheel impeed any more progress?

Dosen't the II race twins use the Silver Bullet for the top and the Big Bro for the bottom charger?

He might not want to move into twins if sled pullin is on the menu.
I guess it depends on what class he runs in.

That would be a big set of twins with the bullet on top, id like to see that run if someone in fact does build a setup like that. I havent been around sled pullin much but the ones ive seen have had different classes and twins would move ya uop with the big boys. just a thought maybe not an issue i have also seen different classes for fuel only and a class for added chemicals

Besides a new turbo(s), you could spray water, install a F1 cam, put in a bigger intercooler, amd maybe even a intake manifold. Each one seems to be dropping people EGT's 150-200 w/the water a little more. Except for the intake manifold which seems to drop EGT's 50-100 degrees.

I'm in a 2.6 class at 650hp which is strong but way toasty. Either I'm goingto twins or I'm stayin where I'm at. I can not go Any larger with the charger In my class. The IC is a great idea and I saw High techs the other day. It was pertty, and it it looks like it flows real well. I refuse to spray Water, I've seen first hand what happens when you do. Can you say rust. My modo is go big or go home so, If I'm going to change the air I'll go all out and not just a bump up to a 2.8 Charger.
II's Set with the bullet on top of the Phat bastard will be very laggy. And with I don't know how well I could spool something that size.
Daniel It was good to meet ya this weekend buddy

Chris,

I was good talking to you at TS. IMO, there's not much you're gonna be able to do but, go to twins or a bigger single. I have everything mentioned in this thread that might help you... except water and I have no problem burying my gauge. Different Smarty softwares will causes higher or lower EGT's. When running the 4.4 I didn't see much over 1200F. Never raced with it though

Doesn't bother me too much at the moment since I race with it. Pulling I'm sure would be a different story. I think water is going to be your best bet. A IC may help some but, it won't be that noticeable.
