Need help with Transmission temp gauge

I have had the gauge for about 3 years, working great. About 6 months ago it started acting funny. The needle jumps all over the gauge. Deisel Manor told me on 2 occasions it was the amp box. I called Isspro and they sent me a new amp box. That is not the problem, gauge is still doing the same thing. I have already checked all the connections. Anybody have another suggestion of what could be causing the problem. The sending unit is the one that goes where the test port is on the passanger side. Could it be the gauge? It would like to think not.

Thanks Chris

Check your connections at the box, my ground wire came loose one time, and the gauge was going nuts.

Are you sure the probe is not beat up from having it in a test port and hitting the servo?

Checked the ground wire no issues there. I think I'm going to move the sender from the test port to the tranny line on the drivers side.

Does anybody have this for their tranny gauge "Transcender Temperature Adapter" from Diesel Manor? Does it read accurate?

It does pretty good actually. It isn't as responsive as in the line, but much better than a test port or in the pan.

ISSPRO should be a 2 wire and does not need a ground, at least the ones I have used are.

Again, check the probe and make sure the servo has not been beating on it, if you can get it out.

I had the same problem a year ago. I also got mine from Diesel Manor, called them and they sent me a new box and temp sender. That fixed it but I do have the sender in the hot line.

I guess I just got lucky. Mine started jumping all over the dial a couple of weeks ago. Crawled under to take a look at the white molded connector at the sender. Pulled it apart and cleaned it, fixed it right up. Best of luck.
