need help error P0148 and P2509

I have had my dodge diesel 04.5 5.9 stock except air dog installed 6 months ago. The problem I am having is that it will idle fine but when accellerating after about 10 min it will stall out. I have had it in 3 shops the last is the *********** which scanned it and told me I needed a cp3 pump and possibly FAC or a fuel limiting valve. It was doing the same thing 6 months ago and the reason for the air dog lift pump. If I am correct the P2509 is a dead battery which could be possible cause had to jump it after not running for 2 months. Could the other code really be the cp3. I am obviously not going to pay the 2700 clams the dealership wants for the part, but before I but a replacement part I want to make sure I am not throwing good money after bad. I have noticed more smoke before it stalls. Thought for sure the dealership was going to tell me I needed injectors. That probably would be next.

Change the FCA, fuel control actuator, before any other major repairs. What you might try is dose the tank heavy with Power Service and 2 stroke oil. The FCA's will jam and cause problems especially if they sit for a while and not get run.

Could also be a bad rail pressure sensor but they are not as touchy as the FCA.

It could be the CP-3 but I would definitely do a lot more testing and research before dropping the $$ on it.
