Need help choosing Turbine size....
Hi guys, iv been reading forums after forums and have come to the conclusion that im going to go with a HTB2 turbo with a 62mm compressor. But, I cant make up my mind on either a 71 or 65 Turbine and a 12 or 14 turbine Housing. You can see my list of mods so far and I plan on getting an ats exhaust manifold, DDP injectors (some where down the line), head studs, and some cp3 mods to keep the rail pressure up. The truck is used as a daily driver and I dont tow heavy (maybe 8k). Right now i have the smarty turned down cause my egt's will bury up to 1400 degrees fast, Help me choose!!

I got the Silver Bullet 62 with the 71 wheel and 14 housing. It hits hard and gets to 45lbs quick, but when i got it, i was dissatisfied with the spoolup characteristics. It takes noticeably longer time and rpm wise to spool than the stock turbo. When i get my twins setup, I am going to rebuild the 62 with a 65mm turbine for quicker spool, thats the one i would reccommend.

x2 i have a stock cp3 and sticks, and i have no problem spooling mine with only REVO TNT. I do have a manual but with the fueling upgrades you're looking to get plus the exhaust manifold, a 71 would be a much better choice in my opinion. In regards to housings a 13cm stainless steel housing will flow like a 14 and spool like a 12.

As far as mods are concerned, deciding on a turbo was the most difficult choice i've had to make so far. Early on i decided on HTT because i was able to get a great deal on one(Thank you Vulcan Performance), otherwise it would have been even more difficult deciding between Industrial injection and HTT. I also decided early on that i wanted the ss housing, however it took a loooooong time to decide between 62/65, 62/71, 64/65, 64/71. The way i saw it was that since i hardly ever tow, a 71mm wheel was the way to go because it would give me better top end. That left me to decide between the 62/71/13 and the 64/71/13. The reason i went with the size that i did is because i was told time and time again that with my mods, i'd be happier with the 62/71/13 for the street, and 64/71/13 for the strip. I would have to say that that was very sound advise. Besides HTT turbos give you ability to grow with your mods at a relativley small price. Anyways good luck with your choice, i know for me it was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders when i finally order one. sorry for the long post

Ok guys, after much consideration iv decided that I'm going to go with a HTT 62/71/13. It should spool like a champ and keep the egt's in check. Thanx a bunch for the replys! Now where can I find one for the best price?

Lloyd is the man!!! I got my 62/71-13ss from him and couldn't be happier.
The turbo like others have stated is great! Don't be disappointed at the slightly slower spoolup at first, the turbo will break in and that will all get better. Egts are very nice cruising, a little hotter than stock getting to 70, but it smooths out and levels at 1200 when at wot.
