need help with bhaf and fuel filter please...
hey hows it goin? well im goin to be doin a 10k mile maintence on my 05 2500 and i just had a few questions. im doin the fuel filter for the first time(its a wix too) and im wondering what do i need to do EXACTLY to change it? ive done one oil change on it so i know how to do that part. also, im gonna do a BHAF (fleet guard) and i want to know what is needed to do this? i mean do i just unscrew the hose from the box and yank up on the box to get it out and stick the filter there or are there screws i need to take out? when i get the box out i just set the filter in there and screw the hose on it correct? also, since it is 10k is there anything else i should be doing at this time? like tighting lubing or checking things? thanks for your time!!!
bryan

fuel filter should be easy to change. im guessing they are like 04.5. just unscrew the black cap on top of filter housing, pull off old filter and install new.put back together just like u took it apart. cycle key a couple of times before starting and you should be fine. i'll probabley catch hell from saying it but i would go w/ an afe stage 2 set up.(unless you want twins soon;afe 2 kinda expensive) super clean and you can't beat the sound;if you like the sound of your turbo

The BHAF involves a little more than just pulling the box out and dropping the filter in. You have to relocate the air temp sensor and a couple other things. Do a search....

detailed fuel filter change:
turn the yellow water seperator valve and let everything drain out.
get 1 1/8" socket and unscrew the filter lid
take out old filter and o-ring
wipe out the inside if necassary (but you shouldnt need to do it)
stick on new filter AND o-ring
lube the o-ring
stick it back in the canister
turn the seperator valve back to normal
twist the fuel filter cab back on snug
turn the key a couple times (bump start the engine this get the pump goin better)
and start that sucker up, easy as pie
