I've heard good things about the bell modded OEM turbo!
Are you getting a good deal on it since its your own turbo? The price is what kept me from having mine reworked.

Also, you will turn it down once you blow something. Do the sensible thing, turn it down before you break something then have downtime. Even if you had twins, back the Smarty off or you will wish later on you did. Good luck!

the trailer weight. I don't need you telling me what to do on my truck. If I want to run it on 9 I WILL. I have been pulling trailers for 25 years from pickups to semi's I have 5 diesel trucks and all of them are turned up.
I have a ford 7.3 that right at 475hp I keep the chip on high setting been pulling 20k loads with it like that for 150k miles.
I pull any thing from cattle to hay to equipment with all my trucks and you can pull on the hot settings JUST HALF TO WATCH THE PYRO.

The Members are giving you good advice here. Twins will help alot and so would some water injection. I have been running it on my 1996 Dodge CTD for well over five (5) years now with very good luck. Set up right water injection is hard to beat and it reallly cuts EGT's!
Here is a good thread we had going on water injection if you are interested:

Dang man, these good folks on here are just trying to help you out some....no need in bashing them like that. True, if you watch the pyro then you're ok....to an extent...but hauling weight like that with your tuner turned up YOU'RE GONNA COOK SOMETHING WITH THAT CUMMINS!!!!!!!
Take their advice.....they might just know a thing or two.

Well sir, you go right ahead and run it on that level. When you blow something up, don't go whining about it. I was just trying to help you out before you did incur a problem. Also, I really don't care how long you been pulling trailers. That won't save you. Anyway, you can't fix stupid!

Ok, let's be mature here. None of us know everything. Maybe this gentleman knows how to run a truck that is turned up with out melting the pistons. So be it. Even if he does not, let him do what he wants. Who is to say who is right or wrong?
Regardless, any flaming, bashing, name calling, or general dis-respectfulness will be dealt with by the mutehammer or banhammer. Don't be the one.
