Need a bigger turbo than stock
I have a 07 cr with a 6 speed. Ever since I put the air dog on it the egt's are sky high pulling a load. Whats a good upgrade to the stock turbo. I still have stock injectors. Someday I would like to upgrade to twins but $$$$ money is tight for that right now?

Find a good used 62mm turbo with a 12cm exhaust housing. That is a good start. Only a few more lbs/min of air, but the exhaust side opens up some for flow. That might be your cheapest solution at the moment.
The airdog in and of itself won't cause the change you describe... unless your stock pump was that weak to begin with!

What are your EGT's and what settings are you running on the Smarty?
I reccommend the Garrett Powermax Stage 2 turbo. Its a ball bearing 62/64/.89 turbo, and will make an excellent top turbo for twins down the road.

I run no 9 on the smarty. I went to cali last week with a light load of 14,500 and it was running hotter than it did before with out the air dog. but who knows.

Man, 9 is not for towing.
It's hotter now because your stock LP was not putting as much fuel to the CP3 and injectors, now you have enough fuel.
Turn that thing down, man. If you want to run wide open, you need twins. Still might not be enough.
Look at a stocker over s-400 kit, they are not as bad $$ as twins.

Madhat is correct on why the EGT's are hotter.

well ok I will not turn it down . I guess I will not be towing with it till i get twins then. The old 7.3 psd that has injectors in it that I never turn the chip down when I tow will have to pick up the slack.

In addition to twins you will probably also need high pressure fuel mods, but hard to say as some do and some don't.
400 rwhp is about all the cooling system can handle for extened towing up a grade, which is why most folks turn down their power when towing, that and drivetrain wear is huge when towing at those power levels...

I bet the 7.3 wasn't putting over 500 to the ground like SW9 could be.

I just got off the phone with brown diesel and were going to set up a set of towing twins. He cut me a good price that i could swing
