What size are the stock brakes? Wilwood makes a 16" kit that I think will work on our trucks. It looks like a nice setup!

i was gonna say wouldnt it be cool if brembo or ap racing would make you set of 15" rotors and 6 piston calipers, but it looks like Wilwood got that covered if they have them for dodges.

if cross drilled rotors were prone to cracking then why would auto manufacturers like Porshe, Mercedes Benz, Ferrari, Lamborgini,BMW,Chevy,Dodge put these on there vehicles, i hear that all the time and dont believe it, i have yet to set a brake rotor crack because it was cross drilled, hell they run cross drilled rotors at the 24 hours of Le manns at Seabring and u can see the rotors turning red from the intense heat of breaking.

a little different rig but when I worked for a company in Cali, we built a H2 for SEMA in 05 and Rotura made us up a set of brakes with 16in rotors and 12 piston fronts and 8 piston rear calipers!! could not get the truck fast enough to take full effect of the system. would thro you thru the glass if you were not paying attention.

I love 12-piston caliper setups, but something to remember for people who don't know much about brakes:
Ultimately, the only limit to braking ability is the tires adhesion to the ground. Because of this, you can get more braking power than the tires can handle out of 1, 2 or 4 piston calipers making anything over that more about looks than function. BMW has used this philosophy for decades and their point is valid and sound.
However, I still like the look of 12 piston calipers!
I will check into Wilwood's Dodge applications; I am thinking they will do it, it's just that they haven't yet.
I will post more info when I know it!

Under extreme conditions (such as towing) a drilled rotor has a much greater likelihood of failure. It will crack first, then spiral outward from one of the drilled holes. I've not seen it 1st hand on a truck but I have witnessed it on a '95 Chevrolet Impala SS that was autocrossed.
I've a Wilwood kit on a project car and I've been very pleased with it for the last 5 years. If they offer one for the trucks, I'll be all over that!

Carbon Ceramic would be the absolute best, but you can expect to pay about $20,000 - $30,000 for 4 of them in the size we would need.
I just talked with Wilwood and they referred me to TCE Performance who do their custom applications. He said that it "could" be done, but he would need a 2006 truck on which to mock everything up on that was local to the Phoenix area (where he is at). The other thing he said was that, to clear these brakes, you would need at LEAST 20" wheels and that's why they aren't offered by anyone for the Dodges.

Yes I do, but not many other people do. I am going to try; but it will be tough without finding a Pheonix test mule. He said he only needs the truck for the day and would pay $50 or $100 to the person who did.
