Myth or Fact: Do Predator power modules break injectors?
Just bought an 04.5 2500 4x4 QC with the 5.9HO to replace my power stroke and have loved every minute of it. Popped the hood and found a stageII module that was left behind. It really makes my truck an animal, but my dealer told me that brand of module causes broken injectors. It was originally installed by them, and the service manager is an old family friend so I don't think he is blowing smoke. Have any of you had or heard of this happenning? Could it be just a coincidence that they have had this problem? I have been told to buy the Edge system by a couple of friends, and my buddy is a dealer that will sell one to me at cost. When I asked him about the Predator and the broken injectors he said he had never heard of that happenning. Just trying to find out if I should keep the Predator, or buy the Edge. I would rather save the money for other mods if they are not responsible for engine damage. Thanks, any info would be appreciated.

I've never heard of it. I have the stage I and stage IV injectors and have had no problems, but mines a 2nd gen. Does truck have gauges? If not it should. Anytime you add any sort of fuel enhancing device you need gauges! Call Predator and ask them:

Even though they advertise there box will not raise EGTs, bull pucky. Now the boxes are supposed to shut-off if the EGTs start to rise. It did it once on my truck.

I have spoken to the guys up there and they said "no, our modules don't break injectors." I didn't expect a different answer though, just hoping it was a coincidence at my dealer. I think it is, so I'm off to re-install the module now. Thats what warranty is for anyway.

I think any box that raises rail pressure has the potential to mess up your injectors. The increased rail pressure blows out the o-rings on the injectors over time IMO.
