My trucks runs out of fuel at 1/4 tank now....

Now that I have my fass 95/150 installed I ran out of fuel twice at 1/4 tank. Each time I could only put 105-108 litres in when it ran out. i used to be able to put 130-140 litres in before my fass sytem. Whats up with that. I had a diesel dealer install it and they said everything has to be fine. (nothing they did). They said they used the existing dodge pickup but some hose might of fell off. whats up with that? has anyone heard of this?

If they drop tank and find something wrong they will cover bill. If they find nothing wrong they said I have to cover bill. probably around $500-700 ish.As thats what I payed in the first place for labor. My total bill was actually $1700 including taxes, install and fass pump/filters.

Just be there with them to witness when they drop the tank. They did the installation wrong.

I just read your post again- you got screwed on the price for that installation. Don't let it happen twice!

if the pickup doesnt go all the way to the bottom, but its hard to tell after youve dropped the tank, cause then the hose could be in the same place it was when they installed it which could be correct, then they reinstall the tank and the hose shifts and your in the same boat.

So why not pull the bed off your truck yourself, bring it to the people who did the work and let them remove the in tank pickup.

Before they did the work did you have the in-tank lift pump or engine mounted lift pump? If you had the in tank lift pump they could not have used a dodge pick-up unless they went out and purchased the old style pickup?

1700 CDN, you still got screwed, they charged you about $1000 for the install and want to charge you up to 700 to drop the tank?

I would demand ALL you money back, or at least the $1000 labour and drop the tank yourself and never go back to that place. I'd also file a complaint with the BBB.

Do you have wheel liners? If so remove it so you can see, did they use the factory pick up? I bet they used a new draw straw and cut it too short.
If they did use the factory feed I bet they plumbed the FASS return to your filler neck, you should be able to see that from underneath and/or hear it at the filler neck when the trucks running. If they did that you'll have problems like I did at first, see my signature.
The problem is one or the other, guaranteed.

AFAIK, there is not a way to do a FASS/Airdog WITH the in-tank pump, so they obviously did NOT use the stock parts in tank. Ergo it is definitely there problem!

See my signature for the full story on this.
Basically your pump is taking WAY more out of the canister than the CP3 is returning to it, the extra fuel not used is being returned to the tank via the filler neck. The FASS return needs to be plumbed vack into the canister (like I did) and your problem will be solved.

(I'm assuming they removed your intank pump when they did the install...)

i also dont know where the fuel drain at the back of the heads goes? because it drains back to the fuel canister/which they bypassed.

Then you obviously didn't read the link in my signature and I've already explained it to you...

Once your fuel level is lower than the top of the canister, what's going to fill the canister up when you're pump is trying to take out 100 GPH?
Not your CP3 return, that's barely a tinkle stream...
