Why not put the muffler on for the trip and then go back to SP when you get back???
That's what I'm going to do, more than likely.

Ya know, it does!

Yep, I had thought of that too. One way only because of the hangers.

It's a pain trying to talk on the phone with the straight pipe. Or listen to the radio. Or talk. Or...

I have been thinking of going with the delete pipe. Would you lose any power due to back pressure loss?

Opinions vary. Some say they can feel a good difference, some say it feels like the power goes down. I have never seen dyno results.

I would be more inclined to say it will enhance performance.

It's a toss up for me, but the tie breaker is the "hit it!" in the muffler vid. That's going in as a new ring tone

I would say the muffler in for distance driving, especially when your asking the thing to pull. IMHO the straight pipe sound would really wear on your (fatigue wise) by the end of the days haul. You need a switchable system like the new Corvettes have then you could make noise when you want and be quiet when it was "needed"

I like the sound of it straight but with all the freeway driving I do it would drive me insane. It's hard enough having a phone conversation in a stock truck.

Yep, that was the reason for putting it on. (that, and it was less to pack! lol)

I've been running 4" turbo back for a while, I love the sound of it. I can't decide if I should go stacks of 5"...

http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm

There is the solution to "pullin' the muffler off and puttin' it back on. They go up to a 4" which would be ideal for most applications on here. The people I know that have these have had 0 problems out of them.....

I'm sure most of you know what a cutout is/does, but if you don't there is a little sound tab over to the left on the dmh page

I just got this picture in my head of Mark with a mufflered exhaust coming out one side and the straight pipe coming out the other. What's funny is him sitting in the cab at a red light, flipping the switch back and forth, changing the smoke from one side of the truck to the other just to mess with folks.

I definitely like it better with the muffler, much smoother and more turbo.
