Do you have a straight thru muffler on it or is it total straight pipe? I thinking about going to 5 inch with a resonator.

[QUOTE=wap;1734147]I had the 5" on mine with the stock turbo then I added the SPS66, it does make a differance in volume and drone, both are increased with the bigger turbo.

yes that was my point to begin with. if brett goes to a big turbo some day, it becomes alot louder. ive done it a couple times now. when you go bigger than the 66 it gets very loud with 5". I do have a muffler but it can come out when it gets too quiet again sometime

Some of you guys just gotta try running the pipe out the side! Man is that sweet (sorry, no pix of mine). The pipe is 5 feet shorter! And the sound is even better, not louder but more mechanical. No rear bumper soot either, but just a bit of discoloration on the rear wheel after a couple thousand miles. One of the best mods I've done.

I moved my MBRP muffler 37 inches forward and angled the pipe out the side by using a bend cut off the rear section of pipe. The pipe passes under the frame where it starts to curve up near the spring mount.

im not spending anymore money on perf stuff. im wanting to build a house and the stocker keeps everything cool for me!! the drone at 1400-1500 is pretty bad when towing...i ended up running in 3rd until i could get to about 70 so it would kick into OD

i got an mbrp 5 inch on mine, it has the muffler, but on backwards so all the baffles dont stop any flow. i dont want a tip i dont think, lots of people comment now on my huge tip, and i just ask what tip? ive came out of stores and seen people laying on the ground looking at it. 2250 rpm for me is a good drone, shes loud then

cowboy,

Backwards? The little cuts are supposed to face back. Not as scoops. Is that what you mean?

Hows the truck run? The local performace shop put a 5" bully dog on a near stock think 03. They lost the cat and the guy came back and said it ran like crap. They put the cat back on and it seemed to run better. There is a mag that my brother got (diesel tech) and it has 10 truths bout exhaust. Mbrp said that with the 5" you lose some low end torque.

I'm putting on a Diamond Eye 5" exhaust this weekend. Hope I don't lose any low end torque. Of course, it's 2 WD, so if I pick up some midrange in exchange, it'll be a good trade off.

I was looking to do this to my truck, except maybe a 5" system from MBRP or BullyDog (straight piped) to a 6" tip. How much louder is this than a stock exhaust with a muffler? (I have an 03, so it doesn't have a cat, just a muffler)

i do have one complaint...then the motor is cold and the jake is on to speed up the warm up, it sounds horrible. it is very very loud and sounds like a massive air leak. i cant decide if i want to forgo the benefits of it during warm up for the sake of my sanity
