My "Review" of a Cheap 5" Exhaust!!

Leave one or two band clamps in there...makes the future easier...
I always tack/spot weld my clamps...they will never twist or come loose and it takes 5 secons with a grinder to remove the tack.

I wouldnt weld all of it together. at some point you might want to put a muffler on it. with the stock turbo the drone isnt that bad, but wait until you get a big turbo. the drone is pretty bad then. I have had 4 different mufflers on my truck until I found one I like. but its just clamped in there for when I want it to be loud again.

i havent found it to be to loud at all yet. i towed my boat today and there isnt any drone except for around 1400 rpms...just like when i am empty. i am very happy so far and since it isnt near as loud as i was expecting, i dont believe there is any need for a muffler. i will post pics later. i really like it had a 5" downpipe too!!

I put the same kit on my truck today....and trust me, its LOUD! or maybe thats because of my SilverBullet? Not sure. at 55psi you better be wearing ear plugs.
My downpipe went on really easy, so easy it was scary. We had a small defect to fix towards the rear of the truck but we had a welder and torch on hand...so it was no big deal.
I, like cquestad, tacked a few of the clamps to hold it all together. I've gotten tired of swapping welded exhausts....4" straight with cat, 4" without cat, 5" dumped with twins, 4" dumped, 4" with cat again, and now my "off-road" 5" kit totally straight.
See ya in Houston Brett. Be looking for the guy in the palm leaf cowboy hat wearing a diesel shirt that has the name "Honky" on it....that would be me

I had the 5" on mine with the stock turbo then I added the SPS66, it does make a differance in volume and drone, both are increased with the bigger turbo.
Phil, hows everything holdin up on your ride? What kind of rail pressure are you maintaining at WOT?

i had an 03 that i put a 5 inch straight through exhaust on. it had a 4 inch down pipe straight into 5 all the way back with a 6 inch rpb tip on it. i loved the sound of it. my mom was following me one night and i got on it kinda hard to blow some smoke on her and a cop pulled me over and gave me a warning. said that its too loud and i need to keep it down. it was pretty funny
