With the TNT/R revo version, I have to say for me it has replaced everything else. I can do everything I want it to do with the adjustments in the programs. The only quality I could not duplicate with this was the "twitchy" throttle I got from beta 4.3. Which was ok by me anyway. On my truck I found 4.2 to be not as sensitive as 4.3.... but results between 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 were all pretty close.

Well maybe its not a big deal then. I liked alot of what the 4.4 had around town but the TNT is angry fast. Every time I turn the tnt down somebody wants to race. (closed circuit of course)

TNTR
4k option on

RP 3
TM 2

Whatever power level I feel like.

That gives me 24.5 rail pressure...no timing issues...smooth throttle...etc etc.

What are your thoughts on running your Tourque Management Level so low? Your tranny can definitely handle the #3 or #4 settings.

I always stick with the "Wild" setting because it feels like it's really increasing the throttle response on the truck.

I hear what you are saying here, personally, I never ran wild except at the track. I found Mod. TM to work best for me overall. Wild just produced more smoke and not more actually useable forward motion.

other than a few quirks it has, I'm happy with this software too. It would be a lot easier to tune though if those adjustable functions were able to be done on the fly. By the time I get the new software in... I'll have forgot what the last was like

I'll agree with the 2 stroke/ 4 stroke analogy too. 5.3 is much smoother than 4.2.

As we know... all truck run differently with different tunes. My truck used to love 4.3 but, then it hated it. I use 4.4 for street driving and it's pretty tame. For my truck 4.2 , 4.3, 4.4 had their power in that order.

I didn't get a lot of time to play with the tune before using it. In fact.... I loaded it for the dyno run without ever even driving it. Then it was only 30 minutes down the road to the track to race with it.

As I said when I started the post... this wasn't a very technical review, just my initial thoughts on the tune.

Glad you guys straighten me out

AFAIK, the beta 4.2 on 9 was 170hp, The new stuff is 230hp on 9

7 on the older software is likely around 140/150hp

7 on the new software is likely around 170/190hp

I may be off a little either way but, that's close

dood ! man, I thought you must have moved or something. haven't heard or seen you around in a while. Yep, little by little the Eclipses are getting farther into the rear view hopefully the cherry picker will stay folded up !

The new toys aren't ready yet.. they're still in beta. It should be pretty soon though that they'll be available.

cool. you should be able to be proud of the numbers you'll lay down at TS. you may have just had a blip causing you issue. It's scary watching that needle on the dyno rpm meter go past 3.5K but, it sounds too cool.

There's going to be some huge numbers for Dave and Mike to record at the event !

Ok, i'm the anomaly in the group becasue i dont have a turbo, much less twins, dont have injectors / cp3's / springs / studs /.....the other $10k everyone on this post has! I know TnT isnt meant to be for everyone, but i'm getting there and i assume when it's released, there'll be people with my level of mods that want to give it a try...

For me on TnT (non R), Level 7, Pressure 3, timing 2, tq mgmt 3 (moderate), wastegate disabled....there's no sensation of power / speed / agro at all.....i think it's fast, but it's booring....my rp max is 24k, fp stays good.....so i don't think i'm running out of fuel....now on timing 4, it feels a lot better...but rattles / noises are pretty bad (worse than old school smarty sw)

Switch back to beta 4.4 (level 9) and it's a riot, feels very good / powerful / responsive, the way it should be....dont have to floor it to get it to spool...feels like race software....

Thoughts? Do i not have enough air for TnT? Did TnT 4.13 have timing issues? (perhaps level 2 timing is less than 4.4) Is it the smoothness that's warping my brain? (i do own 3 2 strokes and only 2 4 strokes)?

...let's put it this way...a fellow DTR member came over and i let him test drive the truck....(his is a stock 07)....with the TnT loaded on the above settings, he obviously noticed a diff, but he wasnt raving about it...not sure he was as impressed as someone who gained 200hp should be...
