My cat solution

Bought a turbo back exhaust system for my 04.5 but I live in an emissions area so I had it tested before install its good for 2 years but I will need another test eventually so here is my solution. I bought 6-4" V-Band flanges and 2 V-Band clamps I cut the cat out of my original exhaust squared off the ends and welded flanges to the ends then I cut an equal lenght section out of the new exhaust welded the remaining flanges on them and now I have a quick change cat.

Wow they make you test for emissions on a diesel in denver? that blows I was out in cali and they would just wave me trough at base registration. They have to use an opacimeter for our trucks just like the big rigs so they don't even bother they probly had like 20 places for you to go on a list when you registered. thankfully my 04 didn't have much emissions equipment in the first place.

Nice job.

We are going to be doing diesel emissions here soon, but from what I have heard its just a snap throttle test... no smoke equals good..

Yeah here in Denver they make you test for emmisions on diesels but the state doesn't have the equipment to do it so the test facility is a privately owned facility with state paperwork. They even test old diesels a guy I work with has an 87 ford 6.9 IDI and he has to get a tank of biodiesel the day he tests or it won't pass. He is dying to transplant a cummins into his ford. Smart choice I say!
