It's my understanding that black chrome is done the same way as regular chrome just over a different type of nickel base plate.

It's not as dark black as you think it will be, but on an all black rig thats not such a bad thing either. It's gonna look baaaaad as Edit any way you shake it.

btw nice murci... You ever post on 6speedonline? I don't frequent lambopower much anymore. You might know a few of my buddies that regularly post there, Chad (with the 7sec viper) Big Carrot, Yellow Fever, SHANK, oh hell I forget who else is over there.

At any rate it's nice to see some exotic owners like big diesels too

Oh if you get the chance kick Allan in the cooter for me

K5Krazie- It's a process that DOES go over existing chroming or even pollished aluminum. It goes on and is baked much like powdercoat. It forms an almost inpenetrable barrier over the wheels and even resists DUST!!!

TinyRam- I used to post on 6-speed and lambopower all the time. Believe me, I know all about Allan and his retarded ways. I am just waiting for the raight time to let him know he owes me the whole sight because I completed my Murci project!!

If I didn't think that that would ruin the lines on the truck, I might actually do that !!! The trucks that have them on remind me of the H1's with snorkel kits!

Cool Had an EPIPHANY whilst talking with Don!

I was speaking with Don about the suspension stuff and I realized that if I go with KMC Rockstars they are going to be a one-off custom set (since I want bigger than a 17"). My dilemma had been that I need a 40" or 41" tire and the best one is obviously the Toyo M/T; however, they only come in a 40x15.50 and that is just WAY TOO WIDE to have on a dually without shortening the axle and doing other crazy stuff.

HOWEVER (and here is the epiphany), I said why not have them make me a 22.5" rim!!!! And that way I can use the same 295/75 Goodyears I planned on using with my Alcoas!!
It's a one-off set so machining an extra 0.5" diameter is nothing and would be a direct 8-lug bolt on fitment!

I thought it was a pretty cool solution. Now I just have to wait and see if I hear back from KMC!

Just curious... How many millions is it going to cost to get a set of custom wheels?

I have not finished discussing it with KMC so I do not know. And, in theory, it should cost me absolutely $0 because I am promoting their product. That would be the exchange. If it costs me a couple thousand then so be it; that's what wheels cost anyways!

Well, Aren't the Rockstars a multi-piece wheel? Do they have a seperate hoop or are they billet wheels?

I think they are 2-piece. Next time I see my Dad's Hummer I'll take a closer look.
