Muffler shop in DFW area?

I put this in the general discussion area, didn't get any hits....

Good muffler shop in DFW area?
Can anyone point me to a good muffler shop in the dfw area. I'm wanting to have some exhaust work done and I want to make sure it's done right. Thanks!

I was going to suggest THIS place but it appears they've moved from Lewisville to Brownwood. Oh well....they WERE a good shop that I've used on several occasions.

Phils Muffler on Main Street. This is on main street near Saginaw. They have always done us well.

Try Mikes Off Road in Haltom City. They have been doing all of my mods for about 20 years now--including the 05 Dodge I drive now.

Stay away from Mikes Off Road. Everytime I've been in there and was quoted a price on something, it has always been VERY high compared to others. If you are willing to pay a premium then they should be fine.

Ken's muffler, Dallas, NW Hwy near Love field... did my straight pipe, even let me talk him down on the price... did a nice job.

ditto on Mike's... I know too many people that have been skuuuureeeeewwed by that place. There are much better offroad shops in DFW. Sunray(Weatherford), PSC Steering(Weatherford), Baertrax(Dallas), NoBoundaries(Arlington)

Am thinking of getting rid of the stock muffler and putting on a Nelsons or Donaldson's 51" muffler. Anybody know of a local place (DFW, preferrable on the FW side) that can install this for me ?

excellent. I was under the impression that you could only get the Donaldson's or Nelson mufflers from a big rig service place. Will be making a call to him tomorrow.

I did not know you were looking to buy it, you said get it installed. Try truckpro off of blue mound and then take it to Phils.

Sorry but I do not agree with the evaluation of Mikes Offroad! My experience has always been just the opposite! I have seen all kinds of screw-ups over the years that even other shops including the dealers have sent to Mike to fix. Mike has done 7 of my trucks over the years and many of my friends with NO complaints! Mike has always been able to be competitive as well as the Best install and Service work around. No offense to anyone but if you go into his shop it is not full of snot nosed kids who are just starting out. Nothing wrong with that but not on my truck! I am very demanding as I have been in military aerospace for 19 years and always expect perfection!

that's cool BH... folks got your opinion, mine, and some others... as well as some alternative shops (non snot-nosed kid shops btw, that would be 4wpw which I purposely left off the list... as well as a few other smaller shops that have similar split opinions in the 4wd drive community... kinda like Mike's) Now they can shop around and decide for themselves.

Besides... it's an exhaust thread... not exactly the forte' of any of the discussed offroad shops

de-hijacking this thread now... -clint

roadie00,

If you're looking to replace the system with a performance system go see Diesel Injection Service and ask for Brant or Stephanie 806-745-7727.

Thanks Mark,

I went and saw them today for a EGT. I had my muffler removed by a muffler place down the road. It works for me for now. Thanks!
