Mud capable tires for 04 dually
Hello forum,
Well for about the 3rd or 4th time, our dually has gotten pretty stuck, although we were able to get it out with some well placed branches and some momentum, but these stock tires are plain garbage. What we need is a stock to i'd say maybe 33inch tall tire that can fit on the stock rim without any suspension lift and be able to have the stock weight capacity. Only difference is that it would be more capable in light mud and dirt. Thanks for the help.

Check this tire out ! The only thing I cannot find out is if the 265 will work on the dually without using spacers. The tire is a pretty aggressive mud tire and is load rated E. Just wish I knew if they would work with the dually or not.

The second link tires look pretty good, I think I'll go out and measure the stock 235's and see how much a difference the 265's would make. But thats more than an inch wider on each tire back there so having them both together would bring both tire walls 1inch closer. That maybe too close and would need a half inch spacer.

Jhardwick,
I saw your link on turbodieselregister.com Just wondering if you could tell me a little more about that tire you have as far as what size they are, the load range, and if you had to use spacers or not on your 03' to run them. Those look like a really good off-road tire. I would be very interested in purchasing some of these if they will work on my 04.5 dually.
thanks,
matt

I'd suggest the MasterCraft Courser C/T to anyone.
1)direct replacement for your dually
2)load range E
3)plenty aggressive enough for most applications
4)should wear better than a true mudder
5)rides nice
6)$170/tire mounted and balanced
MasterCraft is made by Cooper, I think this is the same tire as the MasterCraft except possibly price

Guys, I wanted a great snow ice and mud tire so I got the Cooper discovery m/s. They're studdable but I wanted to run them in summer so I didn't get the pins in. The tires are alot narrower than the stock tires (I got 235 80 17). If I did it again I'd go with the load range e 265's. I'm sure they would fit. The tires are way smoother than stock rolling along. I'd probably get the s/t 's if I did it again but the m/s are awesome on ice and snow and still good mud traction. I haul heavy, often over 30 k combined. KS
