MPG analysis - BREAKEVEN on a computer purchase
I decided to build a quick analysis tool that allows you to input three factors
1) Cost of fuel
2) Cost of computer
3) Current MPG average your truck gets
it then adjusts the grid automagically and spits out the amount of miles it will take in savings at the current cost of fuel, before the computer pays for itself...
I built it in .5 mpg increments...
[Click here to download in Excel .xls format]

Thanks ROCKET
Thats a fun little tool that I haven't seen here before.
I'm at about 53K know and as calculated by your handy lil calculator looks like I only have about 90K more mile before I break even, atleast I will feel like I broke even by that point. The money spent, I feel was WELL spent for know!

I've seen some threads about regret on mods... I'm trying to shed some light on something that might be quantifiable and alleviate some of that buyer's remorse... or at least prepare folks for those that are expecting mpg savings in the different computer settings...
you'd think I worked for smarty or edge, eh?
glad you liked it... took 5 min...
