MP-8 is acting strange..
I noticed that if I turn my MP-8 up past half way that the truck will start popping and surging once I let my foot off the pedal. It's kind of like there's still fuel being put to it after I lift my foot. It does this with or without the TST on. If I drop back to halfway or lower it does just fine.....

Whenever I've had problems with a pressure box, be it a Quad, Edge EZ, or Ramifier, I have found that pulling the connectors apart and re-greasing them with some Permatex dielectric grease has cured any surging or strange behavior.
It seems that on my truck I have to re-grease about every 5k miles or so. Kind of strange, but it works for me.
The run-on is really noticeable in manual trucks. I've learned to let off early enough prior to pushing in the clutch so that the rpm's fall immediately.
All that may change now that I'm getting my Smarty
More than likely I'll be saying goodbye to pressure, at least until I get some sticks and a CP3.

Dzilla I dont mean to hijack but I ma havin problems with my mp8 as well.
Truck runs good but I got a p2509, p0191, and p0069. The 69 was there before but the other 2 were not. Will grease help get rid of codes?

when I installed my mp8, I used the dialectric grease that the others were referring to, and I haven't had any problems so far. From what I understand, the grease keeps away moisture, and promotes a better connection

You might have too much "injection" timing. It has nothing to do with the "model" of the pressure box. Jsteigler also had that problem if he turned up the MP-8 to far.
If you are getting codes...then there is a problem with the harness, connections, or the module itself. Just that pop...it is something else in the "tuning" of the fuel delivery.
Do you need to run over 1/2? Which program do you have? I like 60-70% max (on the "stack" program...plugged into the MAP first) before it is just smoke and no more performance.

I just have the regular program. TS Perf told me that they don't make them with the Stack program anymore. Do I need to run it any higher than halfway? Obviously I need to on occasion! Actually, no I don't but it does get off the line quicker. I think you are right about too much injection timing but I'm going to regrease all the connections anyways and then just run it at 60% or lower.....

60-70% is definitely the max if you're stacking (TST program).
But the smoke at 100% is GREAT!!!

I was actually trying to make some smoke for some friends and it did it just fine but when I let off, it started running on and sputtering a bit. I will be smarter in the future and go no higher than 50% or so......

Let me clarify something about my MP8. I bought it brand new from BigDawgPerformance on e-bay. I asked him before I bought it if he had the TST stack version. He said yes and that I would just need to specify that when I ordered it. I did this and paid my money. When I got it I was looking at it and saw no kind of markings to show that it had a special program. I e-mailed him to be sure that's what he sent me. He responded and said yes, he had sent me the stack program. I was on the Edge homepage for some reason and saw that they have a disclaimer stating that any boxes purchased from him would not be covered under warranty! This has nothing to do with my TS Performance box but it made me wonder what the heck he did to make Edge so mad as to put this disclaimer on their site. I next tried to call TS Performance and ask them about the box. I couldn't get an answer on the phone so I e-mailed them. That's when I was told that they have gone back to the original program for this box, even if you are running the TST. I have just assumed that I got the regular program since then. Maybe I actually got the TST program and that's why I am having this issue when I turn it up high....

If anything you'd have less of a problem with the TST program.
The TST program uses less overall rail pressure, and less timing than the standard program. I would think that your truck would react more to the standard box.
That being said, I've run both the standard and TST programs at up to 100% w/o any problems (other than some soot on my bumper).

Ditto...but you don't have injectors...JCleary.
I bet you don't have the stack program. It is splitting hairs...I have ran both and have dynoed within 5 hp.
I like the stack program because I would not use the top 40% of the regular anyways...and I needed some "automatic" self control...and saftey measures for my relief valve!
DZ....don't turn it up to the point of "rattle" and you should be perfect. Like I and others have said...it is just smoke above that point...and no more usable power.
