I have seen a lot of threads on what is the "best" box for the Gen 3 Cummins, but I havnt seen much on what is the most aggressive.

I just picked up an 06 Cummins and am looking into available options for my truck. I used to run an 02 with a blue chip box, injectors and some other stuff.

The Smarty programmer sounds like it is pretty aggressive, but I am not sure I like the idea of not being able to switch programs on the fly...... Or am I mistaken with that?

I know TST makes a pretty crazy box for the Cummins, but how is the power / smoke / fuel mileage compared to the smarty?

Are there any other options for a very aggresive box, that you can change modes on the fly that also has a reasonable price?

Lastly, this isnt really related, but are the new trucks as easy to straight pipe as the 02? As I recall, on the 02 it was just the matter of unbolting the muffler / cat assembly and bolting in a straight section of pipe. ( For off road use only of course )

You cant change the smarty of the fly, the truck is easy to straight pipe, and you could always stack chips/programers.

The TST PowerMaxCR is the most aggressive and adjustable plug in box available.

The Smarty not out yet for the 2006, should be soon.

The Smarty is more aggressive than the Bully Dog Triple Dog Crazy Larry on mine.

Some with experience with the PPE Hot downloader say it is very aggressive.

You can always stack boxes and downloaders for more power.

Have any of you had bad luck with programmers? I have had my diablo on my ford crap out on me 3 times..... I would be ok with a downloader as long as I dont have to worry about it not working after a couple uses because I do change programs fairly often...

Any idea on the release date for the Smarty on the 06?

Last date I heard from Bob Wagner was end of September
