More problems. Any ideas what else?

My guess is it had a bully dog on it and you loaded a smarty? You just picked up the truck as in it is new to you? Triple stack and no gauges.......... Remove all and disconnect the batteries. Once done turn the key on and connect the battery leads together so they are in contact +-&- making sure they don't touch the battery terminals. Leave it for twenty minutes, turn key off and reconnect the batteries. Get your smarty and load it to stock if it will load and you haven't crashed your ecm or other modules. Otherwise get ahold of Bob and maybe he could save your ecm............keep us posted.

Also I tried the unloading computer memory several times, the first time was when it first happened back in august. I would try it again now but the truck is back at the shop now.
Shakin it has had gauges on it since I started nodding the truck in 05 I just pulled them to make sure no electrical gremling in the tst ra49 were lurking and now I'm going with the commander which I have in my possesion just not on the truck yet.
Darin it started back in august or so after I changed turbos, modded the cp3 myself, and added the mp8 and then the tst. I must say though that it went for 2-3 months before any problems. The only real problem I know of was the faulty self adjusting the tst was doing.
I have always had the smarty on there when it happens but the problem doesn't go away when I take it off.
Armstrong the "something else" is what I'm trying to find.
Also if the modded FCA had been my problem I put a new unmodded one on before I sent it in to floor it to do the stg2 and I'm sure john would have noticed if it was faulty.
I'm mostly trying to gather some info for the diesel shop to steer them in the right direction so I don't have to tow it 3-4 hours from my house just so john can fix it. Although I'm sure that would be my best, albeit expensive route.

Cascade overflow Valve:
This is from another thread from Topper
The COF is located on the top of the cp3. There are 2 banjo bolts on the cp3 and to the right of the front banjo there is a nut that looks like it has a ball welded into the center of it. That's the COF.
This is how to test it.
1. Clean around the high-pressure pump and surrounding area with quick dry contact cleaner. Blow-dry with compressed air.
2. Remove the cascade overflow valve.
3. Visually inspect the valve for damage,broken, and or corrosion. Using a small object, verify the movement of the valve plunger. Be sure the plunger returns fully in the static state. If the plunger spring is broken, replace the valve.
4. Lubricate the new O-ring and threads with clean diesel fuel.
5. Install the cascade overflow valve and hand tighten.
6. Torque to N.m +/- (4.5 ft lbs.=/-0.5ft lbs.)
7. Check the cascade overflow valve for leaks or damage. Run engine and check for leaks.
Make sure that before it goes bake in it is absoultey clean! If there is a speck of dirt in it - the plunger wont fully return to the static state and the truck wont start.

wow I never even heard of that. I'll be sure to ask john tomorrow if he happened to check that when he rebuilt my pump last week. Sounds promising though as I know I never touched it and I know my pump was rebuilt in a hurry due to time restraints.
I'll give that a shot. Wish the truck was here now to try it.

I was told the 04 trucks had some wiring that might be bad, how go I begin to trace which wires it might be? Anybody know what wires would be able to make it chug but no spark?
I have very limited wiring knoledge so "dumb it up" a lil bit.

Typically the "wiring" problem would set codes. It was wires near the back of the a/c compressor that would short out the 5v reference voltage for several sensors. If you do a search, it is sure to come up! I think its said something about be sure to check this or everyone check this out? Something on that affect.

spoke with john and he said that the cov is part of the stage 2 that gets modified and this problem has been existing since long before the pump went on so I'm guessing that aint it.

So thought I would update whats going on and ask a few more ?'s.
I ended up having to pay, dont know how much yet, to have the quad commander w/fuel installed and the TST and MP-8 reinstalled.
As I had stated I had pulled them all to find the problem but I needed the fuel preassure gauge installed to assess the amount of fuel acctually coming out of the FASS pump. Also I wanted to get the official approval that everything else was running right with all the boxes on at the levels I want to run.
I suppose now I have a "second opinion" about what my egts are since the installed a new probe. So I will have 2 different "opinions" from the two gauges. Which is nice to double check im getting what I thought.
I mostly called them to find out how it all was coming but he said they were waiting on me to test drive it. Which confused me becouse they have done it several times in the past with out approval.
But without driving it yet the fass is idleing at 8pis. Thats low right? I was thinking it should be more like 14-20 with WOT runs around 4-8psi.
Anyhow still no truck, still no dyno runs, no drag times, no sled pulling results, no off roading stories, of ricer kills, just sheer distress.
Worst of all when the Dodge is broke down I drive the unmodified Duramax 4door long bed 4x4

Two things I can think of offhand that will do that:
1. Vacuum lock in tank. Check tank venting.
2. Bad bearing in lift pump. OK when cool, not when hot.
I have come across both of these, although not on my Ram.

I guess I dont know how vacuum lock would happen. I have done the vent modification on my truck to allow more fuel in and for the vent to be moved higher so Im not sure how this would happen as it would take a sealed up enclosure for that right?

Thermally intermittent lift pumps are a lot harder to find. Only sure way is to replace the darn thing and see if that fixes it. Other than that, if you can partially or completely disassemble it, the bad ones have rough bearings, which you can feel if you spin them by hand.
