IMO. Any scoop that does not add function only adds costs and cheesy looks. Kinda like putting a fake cell phone antenna on your truck to look "cool". It doesn't do anything. Now if it was a true air intake scoop, that does something.

Most of us here can identify fake add-ons and this stands out like a Ford at a truck pull.

I found this one on ebay, add $70 to ship it and it's right at $300 painted. Those $49 scoops look like factory, but do not have the 6 studs to bolt them to the hood. I don't trust 3m tape to hold a scoop at 70 mph.

If I buy a fiberglass hood, what is the durability.

I bought an SRT-10 hood on ebay and painted it black to match the truck. There is also a guy on ebay that makes a billet "grille" like insert for the SRT-10 scoop which matches the chrome grill really well. It looks awesome, I'll take some photos and get them on the site.

If you go to www.keystonerestyling.com they have a functional ram air hood. It's called a 'Good Hood' and it looks awesome! A guy up here has one and it looks fantastic on the '04 2500.
Overall cost from the Dodge Dealership here is about $100 more than the SRT hood.

Cheers,

James

just a note on the install of the dodge metal hemi sport scoop, you have to drill 6
3/8" holes in your hood to mount it (template included with kit) Real hard to pull the trigger on the first one, the other 5 get easier!

I gave 660 at the dealer for mine and cost 275 to get it painted. Ialso looked at the fiberglass hood that keystone has and your right it is nice but at 800.00 and then the paint decieded the factory was the way I wanted
