Monster Bars
I have to adjust my Monster Bars once aweek and it is getting kinda old. Is this happening to anyone else? I drive about 160miles a day and after about a week they are loose again and have to re tighten them back up. The Last time I tightened the lock nut on the bars I Fractured the adjustment tool that was provided with the bars. Is there something That I am missing to keep the adjustment in one spot??
Thanks,
Justin

It is a lock washer that locks the adjustment "plate" to the bar. If this is the lazarsmith bars. The bar adjusts the tension then the "plate" (it is not a nut) locks the bar with the use of lock washer.
That seems odd though. I never had mine come loose before. In fact I have not adjusted them for months now. Suggest that maybe you use loctite?

The bars I have are Lazarsmith Bars. I know it is not a Lock nut, just did not know what to call it. you don't use the plate to adjust the bars you turn the bars independent of the plate then snug the plate against the lock washer then against the bar. Yea I will have to try some Loctite. I have my doubts if that will do the trick. I put some good tention on the Lock Plate. If I have time tonight I will adjust the bars again tonight and put some loctite on there to see if that dose the trick.

I have the exact same problem, including breaking the adjustment tool. I finally took the bars off for daily driving. Love the bars, but I got tired of the truck rattling around like a ****** old vibrator.

This is the second thing I have heard about Lazarsmith products not working properly, the first was the offset bushings. Maybe you guys should contact XCLR8 or what ever his screen name is and bring these to his attention. For the money those things cost you would expect them to work properly!
