P_Talley,

I've never installed an exhaust before but it seems pretty easy. Would you say this can be done in a driveway? I am having a hard time finding a shop in Dayton that installs exhausts over 3". I wouldn't mind driving to Nashville. I have family there I need to visit anyway. Does Mark have a shop or just mail order?

Thanks....I wonder what I could do with that old 5" exhaust once it is out?

They have a store front, but no shop. Yeah you can do it in the driveway. Grind the spot welds off the top of each joint and they should come apart, but someone got tourque happy on my clamps and I had to heat to bright orange to get to come apart. Save yourself serious $$$ have him ship it, TN Tax is 9.75% my order I was looking @ almost 200 in tax but only 30 something to ship. On the old exhaust, keep the box that the new came in and put the old on Ebay or list on many of the diesel forums, It will sell.

Thanks for the info. I think I will go ahead and order an exhaust. I will let you all know how it turns out.

yfz450guy:

Not sure if it would fit or not. My spare tire is touching the exhaust pipe and it rubs the rear right shock. If you could live with that....then we can work something out. I have no idea what brand exhaust this is either.

Have a good weekend.

sadlerb_98,

Like P_Talley said we don't do installations but we have local folks that will if you want to. It's pretty easy to do yourself too if you have a mind to.

sadlerb_98 & yfz250guy,

Most likely the spare tire and shock rub is due to incorrect installation. Sounds like the 1st section of the tail pipe needs to be rotated clockwise as you are looking from the rear of the truck, that will get it off the shock and turn the tip up and away from the spare tire. I don't know what brand system it is but that is the "normal" fix for that problem.

Just something I picked up reading about the exhuast on another thread is that if the end of the pipe does not clear the bed of the truck it gets real loud. Maybe putting a tip on the end and having it stick an inch or two out the side of the truck will cure the noise problem.

Mark, could you PM me the cost of just a muffler delivered?

Equalizer 2,

Your right about the end of the tail pipe being under the edge of the bed, it will make it loud as compared to having it outside of the bed. We sell a lot of tips especially the 4 inch turn down style when folks have this problem, makes a big difference in overall sounf level.
