MBRP 5" same as straight pipe!!

A friend has a straight pipe and I dont like it being that loud.. So I ordered a system.. The Edit thing sounds just like the straight piped truck. I hate it and the noise in the cab. Im in my truck WAY too much to think its cool..

So anyone know of a good quite performance 5" muffler I can get?

Please help..

You have the Turbo back or Cat back? I have the 5" cat back, and its not like a straight pipe at all. Get the Donaldson 51" muffler for like $70 bucks.

You can got to a local mack truck shop and pick up a big muffler and bolt it up will kill the drone a buddy of ours has the same system before the mbrp was annoying but now you can hardely hear it in the cab and outside it still sounds great, i dont think his is a donaldson though but they are great also.

DOes your friend still have his cat? If not, then just put your stock system back on w/ no muffler, if so then your getting too old! JK, but the "cat only" exhaust systems are not too loud IMO, they are as quite as alot of aftermarket "turbo back systems".

Get a resonator and install it in front of your muffler. It'll quieten it down a bit. The MBRP muffler does nothing.

You can find a cat at a local muffler shop for about $100 and thats not bad considering their $1100 from the dealership. It will help quite it down a bit along with a big muffler.
