A dyno usually makes a Cam shine on back to back charts, In which my Maxspool didn't shine at all -40hp on the dyno and removed it after 1500 mi and had flaking on every intake lobe.....

Wow thats not good I would be one unhappy man after spending the time and effort to do a cam swap to find it hurt things. Glad I went with a Helix 2. Oh and I should say after I spent the money to have a cam installed cause that type of work is way above my shade tree skills .

Ouch!!! I guess the thing that sells a cam to me is the # of happy people running them and some help if you ever have trouble(DON).

I talked to a few guys happy with the sheid regrind but I just have never been that impressed with the sheid stuff.

I ran the Helix 3 with a small set of twins.
When I went to 62/71/13 - 80mm S400, Don insisted on the Helix 2. And Don is the Man!!

No, Brett doesn't have a 53 block or any cracked block for that matter. Must be thinking of someone else.

If I had to do it again would be a helix 2 not my schied cam. When we had my buddies 07 apart last summer we actually put a helix 2 in it. Boy he sure got by easy learning from all my mistakes and changes ahead of time.

I wasnt changing my mind I trust Don has some nice stuff and is a great resource, but I was told there was several cams out there that were also made out of a new stock I thought by comp cams and was just curious if the one on the classifieds was one. Thats why I started the thread.

But thanks for the info that just nailed the coffin for me. I like the idea of a NEW stock rather than a ground one anyway.

Helix 2 specs?

F1 Diesel's website states that the Helix 2 has both more lift and duration on both the intake and exhaust lobes that the stocker; anyone ever checked?
Just curious, since I measured one recently and it was quite different than I expected.

Also, on the M12 TTY bolt, the website says in one place that it needs 80ft-lbs of torque, and in another says 20ft-lbs + 180* of rotation?

I thought TTY meant a torque sequence like above in the bold.....

Hmmm, you are right.. It does say 2 different things about the Cam retaining bolt on the F1 website.

http://www.f1diesel.com/helixspecs.html

Both values likely end up similar when done but that info is confusing.
