Max Power out of an 03 SO
I've got a buddy of mine that's looking at an 03 SO and was wondering what was the max he could get out of it. Last I heard was around 500hp. Could you swap the ECM's from say an 03 HO and be able to go higher or is there more to it than that? I know the 03 HO's can go higher than 500 but I haven't heard much on an 03 SO.

Tomeygun has an 03 SO, you could check into what kind of power his truck is making. I think it was over 600 rwhp. I know the Smarty adds over 200 hp to the SO, it will really wake it up.

I'd like to know more bout swapin a HO ecm into my SO. I mean theres somethin different with the oilin of the pistons between the HOs but I don't think that has anything with the power.
There's 2 things i'd like to nail down on the SO motots.
First, if I added the HO ecm would it give those extra 55HP or is there more than tuning involved.
Second, I was told (I beileve morkabe told me this) that if I was to say put an edge juice on a 305 horse engine and I was to put the same edge juice on my 250 horse motor that they would both make the same power at the wheels on the dyno.
Also accordin to TST they dynoed a 250 SO and it and they said put down 220Hp but if you go by the 20% drivetrail loss they should be around 200. Also somethin I've been thinkin about. I saw HappyGA's (which I think is a HO)truck dyno stock 226 I believe (sorry happy I may be wrong I forget) then with the smarty went to somethin like like the highs 3 like 385 or close to that with a peak of 416 with the banks chips which I thought added another 30 horses.
Just things I've been thinkin about

I know it's only $$$. Just like the VP trucks. I wish. I just wanted to make sure that I had my info correct cause last I heard the most you can get out of the 03 so's was around 500 on fuel only. Just like the most you can get out of an HO vp truck is around 500 on fuel only.

I made right at 500hp with my 03 and that was with a moderate turbo and injectors. I think 600hp is an easy goal with the bigger turbos, modded CP3s, Dual CP3s, and the huge injectors Don M is creating..

driverno8 (guy from CA, you can find him on TDR and DodgeTruckWorld) made a hair over 600 rwhp with his set up. I believe it was a larger single CP3, injectors (not huge), Smarty/TST, and ATS twins.
