manifold/turbo gasket, tips & gasket make info needed
Hello. Should I just go to my dealer tomorrow & get a stock copper gasket? Any other tips on installation that will make my life easier?
Thanx.

I'd get the Rimflex gasket the 50% crush seal. It's 100% graphite material. Pt # RF6018 I like to put a small dab of silicon on the gasket to let it stick to the turbo or manifold, so its not moving around.

Any gasket that compresses is a piece of (bleep).
I ran metal on metal for a LONG time with no leaks or problems..
If it were me, I'd go with the stock steel gasket or one of HTT's new steel gaskets..

Ain't had no problems with mine, you just have to be a little more careful while torquing.

I'm really just messing around there...
But really, look at the #'s... We have one person who's gasket is ok, and a few with blown out gaskets. I re-torqued mine 3 times in a week prior to it blowing out. Any gasket you can cut in half with one slice of a razor blade, and you have to be careful breathing on cause it's so brittle, can't be good over all.
Also, I wonder why HTT is not using it any more? hint-hint..
I know yours is working, and I hope it works out for you, but I think it's only a matter of time..

Nah its cool.
I figured HTT changed it because the steels aren't so sensitive to torquing, which is a plus for the average joe mechanic. If it does happen (I checked it today and no soot anywheres, the gasket looks comfy in there) I'll do what everyone else had to do. Until then, the only thing I can say is that mine is fine, and has been fine since installation quite some time ago.
