My brother-in-law bought the kit earlier this week, we hooked it up this morning only to discover that you cannot scan for trouble codes, get tranny temp, mph, gear etc. on the digital gauges and the back camera wont turn on when you put the truck in reverse, you have to select the camera to be on each time you back up. Very disappointing. Called Edge and these options are not available on his truck even though the box advertises these options. Debating on whether to send it back or just deal with it. The one good thing out of the whole ordeal is that his truck does finally blow a little smoke on the driving setting, it never smoked at all stock.

I was really hoping to get the Edge juice with attitude and even though it has these options for my truck, I'm a little nervous to get it and find out it doesn't. Leaning more and more towards the CTS Insight coupled with Smarty. Only problem there is that the Edge website does not disclose what gauges the Insight will display and I dont want to get it and then find out it doesn't support it.

 

the CTS displays what ever you want it to. have installed a few of them. gets readings from OBDII port for boost etc. you have to buy the expansion kit to do EGT.

 

The CTS does display any of the gauges but for his model of truck it does not display tranny temp, which was one of the main reasons he got the thing. Not all of the options are available on his truck and they said they might get a tranny temp sender unit made for his truck to work with the juice in the future. He really wanted to display boost, EGT, tranny temp and coolant temp, only ended up with three of the four. Also the backup cam doesnt turn on when in reverse, you have to push a button if you want the back up camera to come on.

 

where is the boost located under? i cant find it in any of my pids

 

I have an edge insight and it displays EVERYTHING I need, trans temp, boost, etc. I bought the edge cts and it would not display trans temps, boost, etc even though its displayed RIGHT ON THE BOX!!! I called edge and they said, no currently is does not display that, but it can and will soon. They have been telling people that since May 2010.

I took it back and got my insight fixed. Modded the housing so it runs cooler and everything is good.

 

The people at Edge are good honest hard working people but this issue doesn't help their image any. The problem is the unit fits multiple brands of vehicles so it will display stuff on another brand vehicle because that vehicle has factory sensors giving the unit data to display.

My thoughts are they really intended to have their own kit available for the Dodge trucks to fix the issue so they printed up all the documentation stating that it did. Unfortunately things happen sometimes in development and it is taking them longer than anticipated thus causing the problem.

I do not think it is an intentional lie by any means and having dealt with Edge many times over the years I am certain they will make it right.

 

This has been an issue with Edge for years. I remember way back when I was looking for a good programmer and seeing the Edge Juice with Attitude. I also remember fondly that the Cummins had the least available options, the Duramax seems to have it all. So I steered clear from it as then I thought i could be getting my self into another Banks situation, even though I know now they are good for what they are.

 

well i called edge today and complained and they gave me the 'candidate release' (after beta). The CTS is updated and ill be trying it out this morning

 

just to keep everyone updated, it works as good or better then my old insight. this CTS is exactly what i was wanting

 

The edge with attitude has all the bells and whistles that are advertised on the box on the version for my 2006 truck. Does not hep on the 04.5 but I do not think they wanted to cheat anyone. I wonder if the box is generic or year specific?
