Mag-HYTEC diff cover, worth it or NO?
Since my 05 rear diff cover is already starting to have a little rust spots, im thinking of making it look better. So other than the fact of easier diff oil changes and cooler diff oil, is the MAG-HYTEC worth the $250 a diff cover? My truck is pretty much a daily driver back and forth to work, local towing( under 5k lbs) within 500 miles about 2-3 times a year, some occasional street and highway racing and thats about it. Well I definetly dont think of getting the front, but only the rear. Is it even worth it for how I use my truck? Yea, I will be getting a TST chip and a bigger turbo down the road(thats about it). If not, what can I do to my old one's or a cheaper alternative so I can get rid of the rust?

They're definately more appropriate for harder worked trucks. One will look good on your truck and probably lower diff temps a bit, but I doubt your temps ever get high enough to warrant the expense. I'd spend my monet elsewhere.

If you like the looks of the Hytec, take a look at PML covers. They're good looking, and with exception of the dipstick, do everything the Hytec does for less. And yes, I know the Hytec has slightly more fluid capacity. Not worth the difference in cost to me. I'll eventually get the PML covers. I like 'em.

Well I guess im the lone dissenter so far. I love it. I think it was well worth the money, but mainly for the looks. It's not going to make your truck any faster and the cooling is probably not that big of a deal unless you pull heavy all the time. It will make gear oil changes a little easier. But, dang, the main thing is I think they look sooooo nice. My 2 cents.

You only pretty much do the rear, right? Absolutly no need to the change the front?
