I started with a search on this, but there are numerous threads and way too many posts to read.

So, is anyone making an LSD or any type of locker for the AAM diffs yet?

 

I think AAM is the only one making traction devices for them. I hope someone will eventually come up with something aftermarket, because if this anti-spin breaks, it can't be cheap to replace. $285 for a factory option, but probably more like 4-500 from ******* to replace.

 

The front diff is the same size as the front diff in the Powerwagon. I'm thinking about adding the same front locker to mine. Any disadvantages to using a front locker only?

 

depends on the lockar type. I think the power wagon has an e-locker. as long as you can open you front diff up it is great. optimumly you would have a selectable locker front and rear.

normal locker front and rear can cause you trouble in the wrong circumstances. hard to steer/control in tight places.

 

An auto locker in the rear of these trucks wont hardly ever be felt. A lightweight jeep cherokee wasnt that bad. I was hoping to find that eaton was gonna work their new e locker for the 14 bolt. You will notice in ice or snow but it is something else that is learnable. The front of the power wagon locker sounds good.

You Can put the E Locker in the 9.25 aam axle..Randys ring and pinion has them 1 888 646 8440.. I will be putting mine in a few weeks..

 

What price is the elocker for the 9.25?? I'd like to have one of those.

 

I think it was between $700 our $800

 

Does that include installation? I'm guessing not.

 

The lsd @ randys is the factory torson type made by aam. trachtech has a detroit in the works as well as a truetrac, arb shuld have a unit available soon aswell

in the front you can run an eaton e- locker

The Eaton e Locker is what i got for the front AAM 9.25 on my truck You have to grind the inside of the axle housing to make it fit And drill a hole to run the wires thru the housing,, I should have it in next week..
