Low Boost?
I recently installed a boost gauge and pyrometer in my truck and so far, no matter what I do, I can't get the boost above 26psi. This is with the Smarty on SW3 and no other mods. Is this normal? I thought these trucks could hit 35psi stock very easily. Am I wrong? EGTs seem reasonable, about 625-675 on level ground at 70mph and it's not real easy to get it to hit 1100 or 1200. What are your thoughts?

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't notice much difference between SW3 and SW5 on the Smarty when I turned it up today so it could very well be the culprit. It's also not very consistent. Sometimes it will slip the clutch in 5th and 6th and sometimes it won't, no matter how hard I push it. Not that I WANT it to slip the clutch, just seems like it should do it every time. It's still the stock lift pump on the fuel canister and the stock clutch. I've got 82k miles on it, should be ready to go any time.

Possible wastegate stuck open? I had a problem with my electronic actuator sticking open and causing lost boost. Try clamping off the rubber wastgate hose with visegrips. Then take a small trip around the block to see if the psi comes up.

Its hard to say.. I run a Edge J/A that provides boost fooling. Before the clamp I was hitting 32 tops and now I'm hitting 40 max. I could tell something was wrong because the turbo didn't sound right and the egt were getting too hot. Now everything is fine with the clamp.. I've had it on for 50,000 miles with no problems.

Ok guys, I tried clamping the hose and it didn't make any difference. One thing I did notice, though, was that it stays at 26psi until 2700 or 2800 RPM and then jumps to 28psi until it starts to defuel around 3200 RPM. This is with or without the hose clamped. Any thoughts?
