Love my stacks, but what can I do to reduce noise
Hey I have a slight problem!
I love my stacks!!! I love how they look.
Now the problem is the g/f is getting a bit tired of the noise level, and quite frankly so am I. I have a muffler on there too, but do not have a catalytic converter. I have 5" under the bed into 6" stacks.
What can I do to reduce the noise, yet still keep the stacks. Can I put the cat. back on and reduce the noise???? Or is there anything else that I can do to help reduce the noise.

I have a layer of RAAM mat on the entire cab, and another layer of the foil "bubble wrap" insulation on the floor/roof and the resonance/noise is pretty quiet, almost quiet as stock with muffler/cat.

LOL yeah that would go over well. Anyways, I don't think dynamat is the route to go. Don't want to buy $300 in material and then a days work in removing everything and laying it down.
The stock cat, is that really such a bad idea?
Also, can I install a resinator? Any suggestions

I have somewhat of the same issue. I have 5" into 6" stack with an Aero Turbine 5050XL (built in resonator). Some days it is very reasonable and some days it is LOUD. Too loud for passengers to feel comfortable. I can live with it, but would be nice if it was a little quieter.
I don't really think anything is really gonna help a lot. I have one of the internal mufflers, just have not tried it. It is not really made to fit in a 6" stack like mine. But to be honest I don't think it will make any difference.
I think part of the issue is hard mounted to the bed.

get a diverter from race ready performance, one side to stacks and run the other side with a large muffler and a resonator and dump the pipe behind the rear bumper so it doesnt look funny, change from your muffled exhaust to stacks with the push of a button inside your cab, just my .02m but im a poor college student with no $ for something cool of the sort

This may help. http://www.chromeroom.com/cgi-bin/li...9_keyword=misc Built in muffler for the stack itself

Well, it seems as though I may have two options here. I was looking at a spiral resonator for the pipe, or stack mufflers. Which do you all think would be a better option?
