Lope

What do i need to do to make my truck lope with out paying for a bunch of stuff. My white truck would lope with the bigger injectors. Just wondering what i could do to my 2003?

Why do you want it to lope? Some of the most bada.. 3rd gens I've seen can barely be heard running at idle. Something's wrong with a lopey 3rd gen, IMO....

I don't know where they go but there are some over sized tubes that you can put somewhere between the cp3 and the injectors that will make it seem like it is loping. i don't know if it does anything bad but they say it will get you another 30 or 40hp and the guy here in town that does it charges around 300 or 350. maybe some one on here knows more about it and what it actualy does.

oversize flowtubes shouldn't cause a lope on a CR engine... as stated above, about the only time a CR will lope is if there's a problem.

I guess you could put an interrupt switch on a few injector circuits so you can look cool

I had an Edge EZ that gave my truck an awesome sounding lope to the untrained ear. I couldn't tell whether to grin or cringe when I hooked it up.

Ha ha. I know what you mean. Kinda like a funny car. I'm sure the injectors were loving it!

the "tubes" your talking about sound like a dual feed line. thats what they cost. they are good and bad. to my understanding, you remove the return from your rail and replace it with another feed from an extra port in your injection pump.

pro: 50+ more horsepower , no draining the rail with moderate injectors
cons: idles like crap or to the untrained ear "lopes" as if it had a nitrous burning funnycar cam in it , and now you have NO FUELPRESS RELIEF. cummins put it on there for a reason.

i bought a brand new one for cheap from a guy and ended up selling it because i saw 2 trucks that had one, and the 50 hp wasnt worth the crappy idle, difficult driveability of a 6spd @ low rpms, or risking a blowout of whatever the weakest link is on the rail.

I believe he's talking about the tubes in the cylinder head that go from the lines to the injectors... they can cause a lope in VP trucks because of how the fuel is delivered, but on a CR it won't cause a lope, it just has more fuel available for the injector when it's opened.

I have a capped rail on my '04 and no idle/drivability problems. are you talking about getting rid of the injector return circuit?
