Looking for High Performance Tires

I like to go fast - alot. So, I am in the market for a great tire for the street. Im sure the size I want is 285/70/17. I wouldnt mind if it had mild tread for some grip in the dirt, but I want a tire that I can really punish thru turns and get great off the line launches and will stand speeds in excess of 100 regularly.

Let me state that I laothe the bfg a/t. Not an option.

Ok, now - has anyone got any good ideas? Been thinking about Cooper, Bridgestone, Nitto, Toyo and a few others. Can anyone speak up for these or maybe steer me in the right direction!

I don't have any experience on the other brands but I push my Nittos to the limit...I fly way to fast around corners, daily hit 115mph, burnouts, 4wd launchs... pretty much anything. They do good in dirt ( I live on a dirt road that turns into a mud bog when it rains)

I don't know if they are available in the size you want. Im about due for another set. I put 30,000 miles on mine and I bought them used with about 75%. For now I will continue to run them.

i see they make a 295 that wouldnt be a bad choice! Thanks for the good info I may have to give them a closer look one day.

what size are you running? My suspension is stock... I wouldnt mind changing rims, but I like the way my truck handles right now - my turning radius is awesome and would hate to loose that going to a wide tire. The 295 ought to be just right, beings now I have 305 mud tires.

You might also want to consider the toyo's basically the same as nittos. they work great for me.

I have 305/55/r20 on a stock suspension. I have thought about leveling it out but I don't mind the way it looks right now. When I'm in reverse and turning sharp I get a rub sometimes...
