Lift Pump Is Dying
While on my way down the highway today heading camping I noticed that my fuel pressure guage was running at between 5-6 PSI while in cruise and dropped below 5 when I pushed on it. Seems to me like the lift pump is yet once again on its way out, it was only replaced 6 months ago. **** ME OFF.
It's still covered under warrentty but I feed up with P.O.S chrysler products and would just assume get something thats going to be reliable in there. They did do the mod and installed the lift pump in the tank, just wondering what the best route is for a new pump and who has the best price on a kit.
Thanks

I agree, mine took a dump a few weeks ago and I replaced it with a gdp 392 and haven't looked back. The truck runs better than it ever did and I'm getting better mileage. Good price for what you get too.

It would have been so much easier to do this BEFORE they did the in tank conversion. But too late, now you're going to have to drop the tank. Been there done that...

It's pretty easy to piece together a fuel system that works better than what's out there. I've been using Walbro since before Glacier was around. Pretty easy to do if you're a little handy with a wrench.

The lift pump will actually drop to zero when your really stepping on it. It is designed to drop and is considered normal. Mine cruise is at around 6-7 when I step on it the pressure will drop below 5 for a bit. Then will climb back.

Will I have no choice but to step up the plate and purcahse a system, got a big fishing trip planned in a weeks time with alot of milage to put on the old girl.
Since my truck has been mod to the intake fuel system, would order the 2005 kit where it comes stock in the tank? Also is it really requried to drop the tank, not really understanding where you install this draw straw, would assume you us an existing port of hole in the tank? The write up at the DTR store says the stock system is useable with very little effort to get it back up and running if you ever choose to. There must be a T fitting from the Walbro system into the stock system?
I am debating between the Walbro kit, most likely from DTR or the FASS 2 High pressure pumps. My truck is pretty much stock, got a cold air intake and thats it for mods other then my trusty fuel pressure guage. Would like to get a chip down the road once this truck stops costing me extra money.
How many of you would do the Walbro VS the Fass 2?
Cheers

I know that I didn't have to drop the tan to do mine, the walbro pump is inline and gets mounted to the inside of the frame rail. But mine is an 04 and still had a filter mounted lift pump. The walbro it is pretty slick, it comes with an adapter to mount on the back of the filter in place of the stock pump replacement fuel line whick is bigger than stock. I'd recommend it, but have no experience with FASS, I've just heard its overpriced and overrated, as well as noisy.

I don't think so, but you would still have to drop the tank to install it. With the inline version you drop the tank ONCE and never again. If the pump happened to die on you it's much easier to change when mounted inline.

I talked to Richard from Glacier and he told me that if you already had the in tank conversion, you would have to get a sending unit from a 03-04 truck that hadn't been converted to work with the GDP392 kit, so I'm 99% sure that they don't make an in tank pump.

Now that's confusing???
I know Walbro makes tons of intank pumps. Alot of OEM applications are Walbro pumps and I know I read somewhere that someone modded their intank setup with an intank Walbro...
