What am I looking at for brands of leveling kits to buy? Am I guessing that I will be okay with my stock shocks from what I have read on here, although I wouldn't be against getting new shocks if the price is right and the ride is even better? Anyone help me out on this subject? I am going to keep my stock tires 265's for now if it won't look too goofy with even more wheel well space. Anyone have a pic of their 3rd gen leveled with the stock wheels/tires? Look forward to some replies. Thanks.

After reading numerous threads in several forums I have concluded that Tuff Country is the most recommended and used. I plan on having the kit installed some time in the near future.

I checked out the Tuff Country site yesterday. (Only one I have investigated so far) and it didn't mention 2004 model trucks. I guess I will have to email them to find out why.

I am thinking about 2" level with 285's and aftermarket shocks as how I will eventually like to have it look.

On a previous post, a member mentioned that the "Revtech" kit uses removable studs on top. This would make the install a little easier. I am happy with Tuff-Country. BTW, I am using stock shocks with no problems. Mike

 

Any reason why someone would prefer the steel spacer over the poly spacer? Just curious. I had the Tuff Country Spacers on my last truck, and didn't have any problems.

 

From what I gather, the use of steel spacers are recomended over the polyethelene ones on Diesels and V-10's due to the additional weight of the front end.

I just ordered the Daystar 2" Coil Spring Spacers for $149 from 4wheelsupply.com.

 

Neither Rancho or Bilstein make shocks for the 04 2500 4x4 yet, in the stock configuration or with the 2 inch leveling kit....I've tried...and neither company will state the 03 shocks will work...

Please make sure you call the company direct, not an internet site...

The only way is put a full lift kit into the vehicle....

I beleive that Tuff Country Leveling kit for the 2003 will fit on your 2004. You could e-mail them to be sure. I have Tuff Country Level Kit on my 2001 & my Brother has one on his 2003. Drop them an email..

 

you Guys get alignment after leveling kit install ?

 

Yes I just got mine aligned last week. After installing the level kit I noticed my stering wheel was a little left of center. So I went ahead with the alignment.

 

Yes, the leveling kit ( a couple of spacers) will fit with stock shocks....but there's no aftermarket shocks yet for the 04's....

I think somwhere on the forum someone here (MEXISTAN ?) put a leveling kit on his truck and put on aftermarket (Bilstein ?) shocks (not for an 04) and then pulled them off because they actually traveled 2 inches less than the stock ones....Do a search...
