Not to get too far off the subject, but what are your egts running? Seems to me - compare our sigs - that you shouldn't be having any real egt problems.

I use the ATS intake arm with my Banks Intercooler. The Banks intake arm was too fat for the PPE Dodge dual fueler (dodge pump) kit.
I just bought a conversion silicone hose from www.intakehoses.com and some clamps and it works great.

Wouldn't say egt's are a problem, but I have seen 13-1400. To me, any heat is bad heat.

I was under the impression (and have heard) you had to use the "high ram" with the Technicooler. That is good news as I have the ATS arm as well. Thanks Pourin'.

No, you probably won't see any difference while cruising. The stock CAC is not all that bad and as long as you are operating in the design specs of the truck, it is pretty good. Aftermarket CACs are not going to make that much difference until you are putting out some good power... or if you tow heavy for long distances making that much more heat.

For the average guy, the expense of a new CAC is not worth the ROI.

There is no magic number I am aware of and I am sure lots of different variables will affect that number as well. Yeah, 550+ is as good a number as any. There will be others that may have differing opinions.

The choice of turbo and the air it is putting out will affect that egt number more than the CAC will at cruise.

yeah i figured the turbo part, just trying to go the cheaper route, since my turbo is brand new and id hate to spend half of what it cost to change to a 65mm wheel.

thanks though.

I have had Both Hellman And Banks Intercooler, Banks on my 04-Dodge Ram-2500, And Joe hellmans, Intercooler on my 05-Dodge Ram-2500.
Only Real reason I up-graded the 05 was because that was the year that Dodge had got the wild hair to install the Plastic unit that year.
I never really noticed any real EGT Control differance from running them, I did have a moded Truck into the 500 rwhp range, I really think for one to really benifit from an Intrercooler as mentioned earlier would be if extreme Towing or more than 650rwhp is in play otherwise spend your money better elsewhere

I agree. Although the truck hasn't seen a dyno yet, I hope to be around 650 or above.

FWIW, the OEM unit is 93% efficient for taking heat out, but only 63% efficient for pressure drop.
