LazarSmith traction bars i was looking at getin some of these bars but i was looking at the part that hooks to the shock bracket and it looks like if i went though a ditch it would come up and hit my gas tank. Yal had any problems any pros/cons?

 

Naw, I had some initial problems with the hardware that was on there coming loose, but since LazarSmith put the new and improved hardware one I've hit all kinds of ditches....they work like a champ and look good to boot!

I think they are the best ones out, they're adjustable, and the price is right!

 

It's not possible for anything mounted to the rear shock bracket to contact the fuel tank.

If you've visited the LazarSmith site, you might have seen the photo of full "ditch" articulation on the traction bars page.

The rear heim mounts don't reduce ground clearance more than the AAM housing, and the front heim brackets incorporate skid plates to ride over offroad obstacles... one of the OK boys high-centered his 3rd Gen on a set of Sled Bars - he's raced countless times since then with them.

For sanctioning body/track rules or peace of mind, there are also 304SS restraining straps on the website.

 

BTW, you will not regret doing business with Lazar Smith. He's the bomb!
