Kicking down at Highway speeds question

Is there a simple mod available to address the following...

I'm cruising at 60-70mph, I get on the gas a little heavy to pass someone and she kicks down a gear.

It drives me nuts, she has the torque to hold the gear but kicks down and my RPM's kick way up obviously.

IT'S ANNOYING!!!

Probably not, the shift enhancers advance the throttle pressure with less APPS on the 1-2, 2-3 shifts. Won't do a thing for OD control.

Either a lockup switch, lockup controller, or more power. The OD is ECU controlled based on speed and APPS position. You can't change it so you have to override it.

Would a more efficiant torque converter help this?

Won't stop dropping OD but it will stop it from revving as high depending on your speed. At 65 mph in drive the r's are pretty high even locked up.

let it rev...its a 3rd gen!

Otherwise...a converter lock up switch will keep it in 4th locked.

A lock up switch did the trick on my dad's 95. I realize there's quite a differenc in years, but the problem sounds the same. Took me about 10 min. to tie in and mount. Inexpensive too.
