K&N Aftermarket Filter Design - Not So Good
I had purchased a couple 4 inch K&N reusable cone filters and found the design to be quite flawed.
K&N has an "assembled" filter, whereby the filter can rotate on the base when secured to the intake. With engine vibration this area could let in fine dust particles. I had to epoxy this flaw closed.
Bought a couple S&B replacements and the filter element and base are manufactured together as a permanent design. No way any dust can sneak in. Much better design.
Just my two cents if you're shopping for filters.
