Just installed gauges, are these readings correct??
i just installed EGT and boost gauges on my stock 06'. for the boost i used the boost bolt from diesel manor and for the egt i installed the probe post turbo. on 3/4 throttle to full throttle pulls i am getting boost readings as high as 32 and 33 psi but it only holds for a second then drops down to 27 or 28 psi. is this normal or could i possibly have a leak somewhere? i am also getting egt's as high as 850 so far. i havent towed anything yet but i will this week. i was going to use 900 as a max safe sustained temp and 1000 as a safe temp for short wot runs. but i already have a feeling i will see higher temps than that.

honestly i think ive drove my truck a total of 500 miles with out performance enhancers, and now i have 20k so i couldnt tell you with any certainty that is normal or not. i know mine would make like 30-32 on a hard run but i cant recall if it was bouncy or not. i kinda think it was, maybe its just the waste gate opening up. get a boost fooler and smarty and it will stay strong to 40 and spool up quicker

Yes that's normal for your boost to fall off and stay steady. Less throttle less boost. So as soon as you let off WOT and cruise at a cruising speed it will drop off and stay constant until you give more throttle or let off the throttle.

but its dropping off before i let off the throttle. i will make a wot run and it will boost up to 32 for a second and then drop back down to 28 or less while still accelerating at wot. is it just spiking at 32 and then the wastgate is opening to keep it down around 28 psi or could i have a leak somewhere?

It's totally normal, your wastegate is opening. If you listen closely you can hear it dumping.
Mine does the same exact thing, spikes to 30-33, drops off below 30, jumps around in between when I am hard on it.

I just put on the exact same setup as you did. I used ISSPRO gauges and used the boost bolt with my pyro post turbo. My readings are nearly identical to yours and from what I've seen they are typical.

xzt wont save itself unless it is hooked up to the temp probe, then it should i believe. I have the xzt, and no guages, for bout 8 months now, and no problems here. Big upgrades in the future, and first on the list are the guages.

You'll find that with the upgrades those gauges are your best friend! With adding more fuel by modifying the chip & some boost fooling your EGT & boost psi will have to be watched closely. But it sure is nice having the power available at the push of the peddle!

My EGT probe is post turbo (in the Jake Brake) too. I can get 900 pretty fast if I am towing (16k lbs). I haven't had it go to 1000 yet. You certainly can't pin it while towing without roasting things. I do see 800-850 typically but never higher without towing.
