Well before I did anything I called Toby to explain everything, first he said that for 04.5 models the pump should run constant with the key on but not running, the factory pump would not do this, you could get it to cycle if you bumpped the starter then it would stop until the truck started,oh well. Second , the fuel heat plug would not cause the code so that is still unplugged. Third I said it is hard starting now and there is a low voltage at the lift pump relay code, he said to unplug the relay at the fuse box. He thinks the hard starting is a result of a loose fitting on the suction side of the pump causing vacum to drain fuel back into the tank ,which is putting air into the system, this new pump so far is not living up to its hype but i will keep at it.

******,my airdog harness has a red single lead wire which I am assuming yours is black, along with the red and green that goes to the battery. Where you hooked your black would that be one of the 2 wires that powered your factory pump ? if so I would think I can use one of my wires that powered my factory pump? agree? Thanks.

assuming your "red" wire is the same "trigger wire" as my "black" wire..then yes you could....the AD instructions said to cut the outside "black" wire on my FACTORY lift pump harness by the tank.....well my black wire was a ground on my truck...so I used my volt meter to check for the lift pump voltage by having my dad turn the key on and I would watch the meter to see what wire stays powered for the 30sec lift pump prime...mine was orange with a red tracer...instead of cutting the factory "trigger" wire by the pump plug I traced it up the frame rail to right before it bends on top of the frame rail where you cant reach it. I found the orange with red tracer and cut it...then I put a water proof spade connector on the orange/r wire and a spade on the AD harness black trigger wire..then I just hooked the red and green battery wires up and the AD150 ran just like my stock pump...turn key "on" pump runs for 30sec prime and then stops...soon as I start to crank the engine the pump starts back up and gives me 18psiclear as mud???????

do 04.5 trucks have lift pumps that run all the time when the key is on??I thought it was the same as all the other trucks and that it would prime the system on the first key turn....then you had to bump the starter to get it to stay on for another 30sec???if your truck is like this I don't see why you cant run your wiring the same way??

Forgot to add, I can get the water seperator filter off no problem, but the main filter you have to drop the skid plate or cut a hole in the skid plate . Another surprise that is not mentioned along with the bracket for my 04.5 not sure about other years.

I have the 04.5. I used the 05 and up harness. The only connections I made was BATT+, BATT-, Airdog pump connection, and plugged into factory fuel pump connection at fuel pump/filter housing. I am not sure why you guys are running a trigger wire. Only the 03-04 harness uses a trigger wire and you can use the 05+ harness instead.

my 06 does not have a pump connection on the stock filter...it's back by the tank...
are saying I should have been able to plug in my AD without ever having to splice wires????
you would still have to kill the power for the intank pump and it would still need to be plugged in so your fuel tank gauge works.

You should have a plug at the ecm on the engine, should be a grey two wire. You just unplug the factory pump plug and plugin the airdog harness right at the ecm.

that would mean your harness has 2 of the Deutsch connectors right??? one for the airdog pump and one for the ecm connection in the engine??

I have been wondering why AD did not put a female conector on the harness to plug into the male power lift pump , how much could that save,***. anyways I will go buy one and do it myself, after I make a phone call Monday! ****** did you recieve the pressure lite in yours ? I did, Toby said they have been having some packaging/shipping issues. Maybee they can send 2 harnesses

I did not get a light with mine...I figured I could tell by looking at my FP gauge reading's...I checked my truck and it does not seem to have the plug for the pump by the ECM...I looked in my manual and noticed it had a connector on the frame rail...but its dumping snow right now so I will have to check to see if it is a fuel pump plug later....
