Installing Twins - Header Exhaust Wrap or Not?
I'm looking to install ATS Aurora plus system (A5k/HE351) next month, the kit comes with the ATS 3-piece exhaust manifold (center dump 2nd gen style), A5k turbo and all necessary piping including new intake.
The question is, since I'll be in there I was considereing wrapping the new exhaust manifold, turbine housings (both), and hot pipe (between turbine exhaust housings) and finishing with wrapping the elbow. The motivation was to control under hood temperature, but I don't know if I need to do this. I tow 10k lbs occasionally.
So... the questions are:
1.) Will wrapping these exhaust compinents hurt/damage anything? I assume cool down before shutting it off will take longer.
2.) Has anyone with the A5k/HE351 combo had any under hood temp issues (melt anything?)
Please advise.
