I have a shop thats going to install my Boost and egt gauges for free with me buyin them from them. But they did my buddies gauges and they drilled for the probe on the top of the down pipe right next to the manifold instead of "on" the manifold. My buddy says his is accurate but Ive always heard of eveyone putting the probe directly on the manifold? Is it actually accurate that way?

Its not accurate on the downpipe, Air cools the further away it travels from the source of heat. The manifold is a more accurate reading for sure. Like someone told me, theres no escape from thermodynamics
