Question...are there any warranty issues with the muffler delete mod? I don't care if the exhaust portion of my warranty is voided. Just wondering if the deleted muffler will cause back pressure issues or engine problems.
And one more question, is the muffler delete mod a problem with Texas Inspections?

Texasramman,
Here is what a TXDPS inspector told me in an email that I had asked the same question. I too live in Texas...
"Currently diesel powered vehicles are not required to undergo any type
of emissions testing. All vehicles are required to have a muffler at the
time of inspection; however, our definition of a muffler for diesel powered
vehicles includes the turbocharger. If you cut your muffler your vehicle
will still meet safety requirement due to the turbo."
Hope this helps.

Great. Looks like the truck might be getting a straight pipe (cat and muffler delete). If it's too loud, I will probably put on a 4" Magnaflow. A diesel shop here in Houston says it sounds sweet. He also mentioned to take the silencer ring out of the turbo. I don't know about that one. I'm not that old, but the sound just may be to loud for me.
