installed afe stage 2 & mbrp muffler on '06

Installed rokktech sensor monday, afe stage 2 yesterday, and got the mbrp muffler (left the kitty) installed today. Stock muffler had to be cut off from where they torqued down the clamps so much they crimped the pipes together. I love the muffler, very deep rumble at idle, as throttle increases sounds good, gets a little pitchy as higher revs but i like it alot. I wouldn't mind it being a little louder and I may lose the cat after I get a box. The intake I'm not so sure about, that thing is LOUD (I still got my silencer ring in, I can't imagine this thing without it). I don't have another intake to compare it to but whoever said they are just a little louder than stock was off some. This things like a 727 on take off, I do like it, my mpg shows it right now, I just hope I don't get annoyed by it later. Very well built piece though and easy to install. Still playing with it all so mpg's are down, while throttle response may be a little quicker, truck feels slower. Next will be a box as soons as someone makes one for the 06's.

I have an MBRP on my 04.5. A little bit more throaty at idle than stock, but not loud at all. I kept the kitty also. Just in case we ever start inspections here in "The Peoples Republic of Illinois"!!!! IMHO it's a good unit!!!

Nope!

The injector harness is completely different, having only two plugs. There's no Data link either.

Quad has a pressure box that will work right now, someone on TDR is running one.

Oh yea, the exhaulst is quite, I'd say perfect, I wish it was a little louder, it's the intake I hear over everything else. Would a prefilter help quiten it?

I have the prefilter/filter condom over my FIPK. It does not quiet the intake down at all!!!! The exhaust is just a bit more throaty since I did the Tone Wheel Mod!!!! Not much, but a little!!!

I have the AFE S, AFE condom, 4" dynomax bullit and NO silancer ring..

The muffler is great. Not too loud, just right.

The AFE looks nice, but, its LOUD all the time. At first, I was scrambling to find my silancer ring (still might), but, the sounds is kinda growing on me...

Its louder with the edge and more boost!

oxman,

Add the MBRP cat test pipe and it'll raise the exhaust sound a little for you, might compensate for the intake sound.

Mark,

I thinking about doing just that, any ideas on when someone's going to bring a box out for the 06's?
